Emma Coronal Aispuro (31) is the Mexican drug lord, El Chapo’s wife. She was arrested at International Dulles Airport on Monday, under charges of helping to run her husband’s multi-billion dollar drug business.

On Wednesday, a videoconference hearing was held, and U.S. prosecutor Anthony Nardozzi accused Aispuro of working closely wit the command-and-control structure” of her husband’s drug cartel. The Sinaloa is alleged to have maintained in operation and smuggled quite large quantities of drugs into the U.S.

If convicted, she faces more than 10 years in federal prison.

Coronal met her husband when she was 18 years old; they have a 30-year age gap. El Chapo is famously known to have successfully escaped twice (2001 and 2015) from prisons in Mexico.

Coronal met her husband in her 18th birthday and El Chapo is 30 year older than her. El Chapo escaped two times (2001, 2015)from prisons in Mexico. Coronal was charged in a single-count crime with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana in the U.S. She is also accused of helping her husband with prison break in Mexico in 2015.

El Chapo the Guzman, can only receive in prison visits from his attorneys and his twin daughters from Coronal.

File Your Taxes Early!

As Congress set a March 14 deadline for the 3rd Economic Impact Payment Plan to be submitted to Pres. Biden, two categories of people exist: those who saw an increase in income in 2020 compared to 2019 due to such things as increase in their stock market portfolio, and those who saw a decrease in income in 2020 compared to 2019 due to the pandemic.

For those that have yet to file the tax return for 2020, the IRS will pull the data from 2019 tax return to figure out how much you can get on your third stimulus check. So, if you did well in 2020 compared with 2019, it’s probably a good idea to hold off on filing 2020 taxes until later in March.

However, those that have done considerably worse in 2020 should file their taxes NOW so that they can receive the maximum $1400 check (if single) or $2800 check (if married filing jointly) when the 3rd impact payment will be distributed to Americans.

Many families did not receive their stimulus checks in 2020 because their 2019 tax returns did not meet the requirements set by Congress for financial assistance. The $1400 check is part of the $1.9 trillion stimulus plan to keep American families alive.

Life Possible Even at 3,000 Feet Under in Antarctica

Scientists in Antarctica have found life attached to a boulder in the seas under the Filchner-Ronne ice shelf. The evidence of life was located at 2,860 feet of ice and 1,549 feet of water. They are similar to sponges.

The ice sheet itself is massive, spanning more than 579,000 square miles. Generally, enormous icebergs break off of the ice shelves and drift away; in December, one of these broke off and possibly crashed into a breeding ground for sealions and penguins.

These spongey animals seem to be two different types; ones with long stalks, and ones that are round. These animals are at about 160 miles from the open sea. The scientists plan to learn much more about the animals in the future. This certainly opens up ideas of life on the icy moon Enceladus, where the entire moon is surrounded by thick sheet of ice.

“I’m not a Cat”

A video clip of a judicial zoom meeting went viral after an attorney by the name of Rod Ponton anxiously stated to the 394th Judicial District Court in the state of Texas. As the judge observed to Mr. Ponton that he seemed to be using a filter, Mr. Ponton nervously exclaimed that they were attempting to correct the issue, but that he was willing to go forward as a cat if necessary.

He nervously continued, “I am here, I’m just… I’m not a cat.”

The judge responded in turn, confirming, “I… I can see that.”

The viral video was posted by the judge himself, as he explained that he wanted to show how dedicated those in the judicial field were to their duties, even in such difficult times as during the pandemic. Many people delighted in this hilarious situation, many responding that this video positively in a pandemic that has lasted nearly a year.

Third Covid-19 Checks Will go to…

Democrats finally unveiled the details of the third Covid-19 relief package on Monday night. For Americans that are considered dependents including college students and disabled adults, they will be eligible for $1,400 stimulus payments. The previous rounds of stimulus checks were limited to child dependents only.

The new relief package is set up to pay up to $1,400 to individual Americans making $75,000 and couples earning less than $150,000 in adjusted gross income, and there will be a phase out for those with higher adjusted gross income; individuals making $100,000 or more ($200,000 or more for those married filing jointly) will not be eligible. However, AGI used to calculate stimulus payments can be from 2019 or 2020 tax year.

As of Monday, Democrats are not planning to limit the number of Americans eligible for stimulus payments in the third relief package, which is a change from discussions earlier in the month. Republicans wanted to send $1,000 checks to individuals earning up to $40,000 per year ($80,000 for couples), and the Democrats wanted to send $1,400 to individuals earning less than $50,00 and couples making less than $100,000.

Progressives such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been fighting to get rid of the limits both sides of Congress wanted to impose.

US exits Top Ten on the Innovation Index, South Korea Returns to #1

As the 1st place country in the past seven of the nine years of the Bloomberg’s 2021 Innovation index, South Korea retook first place from Germany for 2021. Singapore and Switzerland follow South Korea as 2nd and 3rd countries respectively.  Unfortunately, the U.S. dropped out of Top 10, as Covid 19’s effect showed the shift in innovation moving even further to East Asia and Europe.

Bloomberg has obtained much of the data from Covid 19 crisis, and it is important to show that South Korea, Germany, and Israel (all highly ranked) have been world leaders in fighting the pandemic, especially in areas of contact0tracing or speedy vaccinations. South Korea’s return mostly had to do with increase in patent activity, ranking at the top. South Korea also showed R&D improvement and manufacturing.

Since 2013, however, the US has been seeing a consistent drop. U.S. is now the 11th most innovative country in the world, no longer dominant in science and engineering. U.S. also scored badly in the area of higher education. Biden has promised to invest $300 billion into R&D and breakthrough technologies. China is currently at 16th place.

Apple and Hyundai-Kia In Talks for Apple Car

Apple is currently close to finalizing a deal with Hyundai-Kia to produce the Apple-car, which will be fully autonomous and assembled in West Point, Georgia.

“Apple Car” is currently in plans to go into production in 2024, although it might be delayed. At the moment, there has been no agreement made yet between the two companies; it is also possible for Apple to contract with another company rather than Hyundai-Kia or work with multiple automakers.

As for why Apple would work with Hyundai-Kia, Hyundai-Kia has a huge market share, and this car would not be a Kia car, but an Apple car. This would also allow Apple to control the software and hardware in the vehicle.

Hyundai-Kia hopes to gain acceleration on the development of their own autonomous vehicles; Hyundai-Kia currently has a joint venture with Aptiv in developing an autonomous vehicles; it is unsure what would happen to their joint venture if Hyundai-Kia makes deal with Apple. Hyundai-Kia plant in Georgia has the available capacity for the Apple contract should it occur.

Many expect that this will put Apple into direct competition with Tesla.

As a result of the news, Apple shares rose 2%.

Spinach Now Can Send E-Mails

Apart from being a superfood, spinach can now detect changes leading to climate change, explosive materials and alert humans with e-mails.

According to a published study in Nature Materials, MIT engineers have developed a method to transform spinach sensors that are capable of detecting explosive materials; when the spinach roots detect compounds found in explosives in groundwater, carbon nanotubes in the leaves will send a signal to an infrared camera, which will then alert scientists monitoring the area via e-mail.

This technology is currently titled as plant nanobionics, the “process of giving plants new abilities.”

As plants are very environmentally responsive, they can detect small changes in soil and water, such as possible droughts or contamination. By the use of nanobionics, spinach could not only alert scientists of landmines, it can also warn scientists of other contaminations and upcoming environmental changes.

Comedian claims Cancel Culture Prevents jokes on Liberal politicians

On Monday, Adam Carolla claimed that shows like Saturday Night Live (SNL) was scared to attack Democratic candidates during this election cycle as due to fear of being cancelled.

SNL covered mostly celebration of Georgia turning blue rather than make fun of Biden administration. The comedian argued that while it was acceptable to hate Trump, there really is nothing to love about Biden either. SNL also did not cover Cuomo’s underreporting of nursing home deaths from the coronavirus.

The comedian lamented the loss of comedy resulting from cancel culture as well as Trump’s presence effectively destroying the art of satire.

Wherever SNL is headed, it does not seem to be pleasant.
