Two First Class Passengers Get Prison Sentence for Misbehaving on American Airlines Flight

First-class passengers got sentenced to jail time after admitting to physically and verbally assaulting other passengers and crew members while in the air. Kelly Pichardo and Leeza Rodriguez were on board American Airlines in February 2021. Their flight was headed to Los Angeles, California from Dallas, Texas, and they encountered some argumentation with other passengers. Ms. Pichardo and Rodriguez were reported to be spitting and shouting racial slurs at other passengers, federal prosecutors stated.

Pichardo (32) got sentenced to four months in prison for interfering with crew members followed by 36 months of supervised release. Rodriguez who spat and struck some passengers is scheduled to be sentenced on November 2, 2022. The flight ended up landing in Phoenix, Arizona instead of its intended destination, and the two troubled passengers were escorted out of the plane to be dealt with by the police.

According to the US Sun, American Airlines has banned the two women from boarding their planes in the future. Furthermore, Pichardo has to pay $9,123 in restitution to American Airlines.
