Titan Submarine Imploded, Killing all Five

Search for the lost Titan underwater vessel was completed on Thursday, with the craft’s destroyed parts found on the ocean floor, and the conclusion that all five occupants were killed, according to the United States Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard found five major pieces of the submersible in two areas of debris near the Titanic wreckage, around 12,500 feet underwater. The Coast Guard promised to continue the search but also noted that it did not expect to find any survivors.

Among the lost included the chief executive Stockton Rush (61), who was the pilot.

The U.S. Navy acoustic sensors detected the vessel’s likely implosion just hours after it began its voyage. The information had been shared with those leading the search but was not shared until today due to it being an unconfirmed data point until now.

On the other side of the world, a migrant shipwreck in the Mediterranean has now confirmed 81 deaths after three more dead bodies were found off southern Greece. However, the world seems fully fixed on the deaths of 5 people who spent $250,000 each on a luxury expedition down to the Titanic.
