A Silver Spring drug dealer, Mikiyas Maryie Kefyalew (24) called “Mick” received a life sentence for selling drugs to a minor, Branden Hausman, who died of an overdose in 2021.
According to Dailyvoice.com, prosecutors found out what happened between Mick and Branden Hausman by examining Branden Hausman’s phone and confirming that Mick was responsible for the sale of illegal drugs. Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said that the victim’s cause of death was a fentanyl overdose.
The drug was a counterfeit pill that looked like 30mg of oxycodone. A witness told police that the victim purchased “percs” from an individual known as “Mick,” describing the “percs” in a blue-colored pill that matched the pill from at the time of Branden Hauman’s death.
Officials noted that in August 2021, Mikiya Mayie “Mick” Kefyalew was issued a criminal citation for possession of more than 10 grams of marijuana. During that incident, investigators found a small blue pill stamped with the writing “M30” within the baggie of marijuana under his car seat at the time of the arrest.
