Holiday Season Does Not Slow Down Crime

Early on Monday morning in Northwest D.C., there was an armed robbery to steal Cartier glasses. The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. in front of a business in the 3000 block of Georgia Avenue.

Investigators say the victim smacked the gunman’s hand and was shot once in the groin, according to Fox5dc.com.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital; he was conscious and breathing. The suspect was wearing a blue jacket and fled on a bike. The suspect is still at large. The Police are seeking public help.

Another incident happened last week in McLean, Virginia, where three men broke into a home and assaulted two people, seeking money. After law enforcement began to look for the men, which included a helicopter and the K9 unit, the suspects were in police custody. The three suspects were charged with three counts of abduction, three counts of robbery, burglary, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and felon in possession of a firearm. They are currently held without bonds.

The victims were transported to a nearby hospital to get treatment.

Recently, 4 underaged suspects attacked and assaulted another underaged victim at a McDonald’s restaurant on King Street, Alexandria, VA. All 4 suspects were arrested and are still under investigation. The victim was taken to an area hospital for help.

It seems that the holiday spirits have not brought out the festivity in the area, as people continue to experience armed violence, and the police, seemingly useless in most of these situations.
