On June 11, 2019, Former Comedy Central’s The Daily Show’s host, Jon Stewart, testified before half-empty Judicial Subcommittee about the shamefulness of holding 9/11 Victim Fund as political hostage in an emotional, tear-jerking speech.

The speech was less than 10 minutes, but it showed Congress’ inadequate measures to support the victims and first responders of 9/11 terrorist attack in 2001, and pointed towards the hypocrisy of Congress’ actions versus their tendency to grab onto the publicity associated with 9/11.

The next day, The full subcommittee unanimously voted to send the bill for Congress’ consideration. The bill which will fund Victim Compensation Fund through 2090 is likely to pass House, but still requires approval in the Senate.
