“Nice” Landlord in VA fires gun, explodes his residence… Why?

On Monday night, an Arlington resident fired his flared gun at his neighbors from his residence. Neighbors called 911, and the first responders came with a search warrant to execute. The resident, James Yoo (56) didn’t allow police into his house; rather, he exploded it.

Arlington County Police Chief Andy Penn said at the conference that the police responded to the house at about 4:45 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of shots fired. The police arrived at the front of the house and tried to communicate with Yoo but ultimately failed.

After almost 4 hours of the standoff and persuasion between police and Yoo, the house exploded around 8:30 p.m. Mr. Yoo is presumed dead due to the explosion. Police found human remains at the scene, and an autopsy will be followed accordingly.

Neighbors said that Mr. Yoo was a nice landlord. People are wondering what caused this individual to behave in such a way which ultimately ended in his presumed death.
