K-Pop Group Seventeen Successfully Performs to a Full Venue in DC; Continues to Atlanta

13-Member K-Pop hit group Seventeen is currently on tour in the United States and recently performed to a full arena of fans waiving the “Carat Bong” at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D. C.

The Group’s tour is titled, “Be the Sun,” a derivative based on their newest 4th album titled “Face the Sun.”

The world tour was “hinted” by the group’s leader S. Coups (Seung-Chul Choi) during the 2022 Caratland fan meeting, which was met with ecstatic enthusiasm by its fans, “Carats” all over the world.

Seventeen first held a two-day concert in its home country of South Korea on June 25-26. Seventeen’s first location in the U.S. was in Vancouver and has performed in multiple cities across the nation, including Seattle, Fort Worth, and Chicago.

On August 28, 2022, Seventeen performed in Washington, D.C., opening with “HOT,” their title song in the “Face the Sun.”

The group performed some of their mega hits including “Rock with you,” which was awarded the Push Performance Award by the 2022 VMA awards during the Washington, D.C. concert, Very Nice, Mansae, and their first English single, “Dar+Ling.” Unfortunately, Hoshi and Joshua were confirmed positive for covid-19 and could not perform during this event.

The group is headed to Atlanta, Georgia, where their next concert will be held on August 30, 2022. Seventeen will perform in New York and Toronto afterward, before ending its US tour in Newark, New Jersey, on September 6, 2022.

Seventeen will then continue their tour in Southeast Asia.

Seventeen is a multinational group (Korean, American, and Chinese) and is comprised of 13 members in three teams: S. Coups (leader of the Hip-Hop team and the Seventeen), Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi (leader of the Performance team), Wonwoo, Woozi (leader of the Vocal team and producer of many of Seventeen’s hit songs), Dokyeom or DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino.

They debuted on May 26, 2015, with the song, “Adore U,” and the EP “17 Carat” which is where the Fanclub name “Carat” originates from. Their official colors are rose quartz and serenity blue.
