Two Tornadoes and COVID-19 in Tennessee: What Next?!

As Tennessee attempts its recovery process from one of the deadliest tornadoes in 8 years, it has found a new struggle: first case of confirmed COVID-19, the new strand of coronavirus that has been the focus of news.

This news comes at a difficult time, where many people are stuck in shelters instead of their homes. Director of Nashville’s Public Health warned its residents to keep an aggressive distance from those who were coughing and sneezing to prevent the spread of sickness, even going as far to warn against shaking hands. While the death toll and missing list remains consistent, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has completed 75% of the survey of the area and found 385 residential structures and 184 commercial structures majorly devastated or completely destroyed.

May Tennessee recover as fast as they can, from both the devastation of tornadoes and the coronavirus.
