Tennessee was dealt a heavy blow on Tuesday by two tornadoes, both with up to 175 mph winds. The counties affected were Putnam, Davidson, and Wilson Counties, with 24 people confirmed dead.
The Weather Service has confirmed damage up to 20 miles east of Nashville, but this is tentative; damage assessment could get worse. The tornadoes hit in the early hours of Tuesday, and it has been noted as the deadliest since May 6, 2013, when a tornado struck Moore, Oklahoma.
With more than 38,000 customers without power on Wednesday, schools in most of the affected areas are closed for the rest of the week.
However, not all hope seems to be lost, as volunteers are arriving to help the families and communities recover from devastation.
