Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced her leaving from Democrats to the Independent party, bringing highlight and political power balance to the center after Sen. Warnock won his Senate seat election runoff against republican candidate Mr.Walker. In her Twitter account, she explained this move to be, “In a natural extension of my service since I was first elected to Congress, I have joined the growing numbers of Arizonans who reject party politics by declaring my independence from the broken partisan system in Washington and formally registering as an Arizona Independent.:
After the Democrats made a great victory at the Senate run and got the result as the majority party, with a 51-49 breakdown. However, Democrats will hope to include more input into the dynamic situation in future political agendas. Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary responded about Sen. Sinema’s Democrats leaving, “We understand that [Sinema’s] decision to register as an independent in Arizona does not change the new Democratic majority control of the Senate, and we have every reason to expect that we will continue to work successfully with her” in a statement.
Sen. Sinema notified the Democratic Senate leader, Chuck Schumer on Thursday. She will not caucus with Republicans in the interview with Politico as well. She added her “service to Arizona remains the same.” She also talked to CNN, “Removing myself from the partisan structure-not only is it true to who I am and how I operate, I also think it’ll provide a place of belonging for many folks across the state and the country, who also are tired of the partisanship.”
The Democratic party now faces a much more centralized voting floor once more, despite achieving a majority position.
