A Russian Lieutenant Colonel Olga Kachura (52) was killed by a missile that hit her car while she was driving in the city of Horlivka, in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. She was a former police officer in Horlivka.

Col. Kachura is the first female officer to die in the war in Ukraine. She boasted that she enjoyed killing Ukrainians in the interviews on Kremlin supported channel. She was a Ukrainian native but pro-Russian since 2014 after the Donbas uprising by Putin.

‘Kachura was guilty of the shelling of the cities of Donbas and the deaths of civilians,’ Ukrainian journalist Denis Kazainskyi said. ‘In Ukraine, she was sentenced to 12 years in prison in absentia.’

She was a colonel of a rocket artillery division operated by civilians and located in the Donetsk People’s republic. Putin granted Kachura the posthumous Hero of Russia award, which is one of the highest honors issued by the Kremlin.

She is survived by two children.
