NAKASEC, KRC, and KRCC delivered Bilangual (Korean & English) guidance for DACA, DAPA

워싱턴(D.C.) – 미교협은 기자회견을 열어, 한인들과 아시아계, 그리고 아시아-태평양계 미국인 공동체를 위해 이민개혁 행정명령에 대한 자료집을 발간했다고 발표하였습니다. 한국어와 영어로 된 이 자료집은 확대된 청소년추방유예(DACA)와 신설된 부모추방유예(DAPA) 프로그램에 지원하는 데 도움을 줄 목적으로 발간되었습니다. 자료집은 또한 불법체류에 대한 잠정적 유예 연장에 관한 안내도 포함하고 있습니다.

윤대중 미교협 사무국장은 다음과 같이 말하였습니다.  “청소년추방유예(DACA)가 처음 발표된 2012년, 지원 안내에 대한 문의와 도움을 요청하는 전화가 쇄도하였음을 잘 기억하고 있습니다. 따라서 이번 DACA와 DAPA에 지원하는 과정을 최대한 수월하게 하고 싶습니다. 현재 미 이민국으로부터 지원과정에 대한 더 자세한 소식을 기다리는 동안, 미교협과 민족학교, 마당집은 한인들이 이 지원과정을 잘 준비할 수 있도록 이중언어로 된 자료집을 준비해왔습니다. 우리 공동체 사람들에게 계속 소식을 전하고 그분들의 의견과 걱정에 귀를 기울이는 것이야말로 우리에게 무엇보다 중요한 일입니다.”

On Dec.10, 2014, NAKASEC held a press conference to announce the release of informative booklet about administrative relief on immigration for the Korean American and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.

This booklet will help Undocumanted Immigrants  especially the community members of DACA(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), DAPA (Deferred Action for Parental Accountability) programs that its how to apply this programs and what forms to fill out for their eligibility.

NACASEC, KRC, KRCC are working for AAPI communities  and all necessary help from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

According to Dae Joong (DJ) Yoon, Executive Director of NAKASEC, said: “We remember the influx of calls and appointments for application assistance when DACA was first announced in 2012. As a result, we want to make applying for DACA and DAPA as easy as possible for eligible community members. As we await further news about application acceptance dates and application forms from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), NAKASEC, KRC, and KRCC have been developing in-language materials to help Korean community members prepare for the application process. Keeping our community informed and listening to their suggestions and concerns have been and continue to be our top priority.”
