Multiple Gun Shots in Midtown Atlanta, GA: Two Dead, One Injured

Two people have died and one injured from multiple shootings in Midtown Atlanta Monday. A female suspect was detained at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Internation Airport without further incident.

Interim Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said the shootings appear to be “targeted,” stating this was planned.

He added that officers searching for the suspect had obtained information that the suspect had gone to the airport. Police and Federal agents searched the facility for the woman and detained her around 4 p.m. eastern time. Authorities recovered a handgun at the airport. According to CNN, Officers initially responded to a high-rise condominium on West Peachtree Street at about 1:45 p.m. to a report of someone being hit by gunfire.
