On Tuesday,  residents of Loudoun County will be showing up at the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors meeting due to a recent scandal involving the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. They spent tens of thousands of tax dollars on their travels overseas. The residents want to know why their tax dollars went to fund this trip.

At the center of this scandal is the County Chair Randall, Supervisors Koran Saines, Sylvia Glass, and Juli Briskman, who in total, spent more than $33,000 tax dollars on their trips to Uruguay and $60,000 to Ghana.

In total, more than $100,000 are estimated to have gone to this trip.

According to ABC 7 News,

“This impacts every single taxpayer,” said Venkatachalam. “It’s important to bring in accountability to the county government.”

Venkatachalam added that his opponent, Laura Tekrony, has been silent on where she stands on Chair Randall’s taxpayer-funded trips.

“It’s an abuse of taxpayer funds and when I’m knocking on doors across the district, this issue is coming up over and over again. And it doesn’t matter what political party a person is from. They’re angry,” said Rose.

Rose’s opponent went on a lavish taxpayer-funded trip to Uruguay and Briskman still refuses to answer 7News’ questions about her trip.

Chair Landall went with her husband on this trip and upgraded the hotel and some of the expenses were paid out of her pocket but not all of them, according to ABC 7 news.

This is not an issue politically related but rather how the leadership of the County has abused its authority and embezzled tax funds for their own enjoyment.
