John Foust has begun his campaign to run for a seat in the 10th Congressional district in Virginia. Currently, Frank Wolf (R-VA) serves as the Congressman for this district, and he has declared a retirement at the end of this term.
His colleagues talk highly of Foust, stating that he is a hard-working man, and he does things the right way. Herndon City Councilwoman Grace Han-Wolf stated that as a long-time friend, she could vouch for his honesty and tenacious ethics toward work. This is shown by his biography which is quite impressive:
As the first member of his family to go to college, Foust earned his tuition by working at steel mills. He received a degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, Masters in Business Administration from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies, and a Juris Doctor from George Washington University.
He was elected as a Board of Supervisor for Fairfax County from 1981 to 2007, where he practiced construction law and was involved as an active member of several civic associations and county advisory committees. Foust was re-elected to the Board of Supervisor in 2011. Foust also served as President of the McLean Citizens Association, McLean Planning Committee, and served as Chairman for Fairfax County Environmental Quality Advisory Council’s Legislative Committee, the Chain Bridge District of the Boy Scouts of America, and Advocacy Committee of the Medical Care for Children Partnership.
He is highly involved in creating a good relationship with AAPI (Asian-American, Pacific Islander) communities, and promises to provide better conditions for the small business owners of both AAPI and other communities. Foust is concerned for business development in his district, wishing to support better development of small business owners, and is aware that many of those small business owners are of AAPI origin. He is also concerned with human rights in Vietnam, the controversy surrounding stem cell research, efficiency of public school education, the growing threat of global warming and climate change, and stated that he was running to help solve these issues.
He represents the Dranesville District which includes McLean, Great Falls, Herndon, some area of Vienna, and Falls Church.
John Foust is a very energetic man, and he states that he will use his numerous amount of experience in government positions to protect and seek out answers to constituents’s issues and promises to take to US Congress to work.
The election day will be on June 10th, 2014.
