Is Martese Johnson, UVA Student, Another Victim of Racism?

ABC agents arrested Martese Johnson (20), UVA student around 12:45 AM on March 19, 2015. He was at The Corner, a popular off-campus hub, when two ABC store agents beat him and arrested him on charges of public intoxication and obstruction of justice. Governor Terry McAuliffe requested State Police conduct a thorough review of this incident. President Teresa Sullivan of UVA expressed “deep concern” over this incident, stating, “I thought about how this poor man’s mother would feel when she saw this photo, because I know how it made me feel.” UVA students gathered Wednesday night, marching through Charlottesville to police headquarters.
