ICAS Honors General B.B Bell at the 2014 Annual Dinner

On December 5, 2014, ICAS (Institute for Corean-American Studies) held the Annual Liberty Celebration Dinner 2014 at Cannon Caucus Room of the Cannon House Building in Washington, D.C.

ICAS conferred the Annual Liberty Award to Retired General Burwell B. Bell Four Star General in United States Army, a former Commander of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and U. S. Forces Korea in the Republic of Korea.
Former General Bell also served as a Commander of United States Army, Europe and NATO’s Land Component Headquarters, Heidelberg. He had  deployed and stationed fifteen times in the past thirty-nine years in some of the most dangerous, politically unstable places in the world.
The evening held a dinner featuring many well-known scholars and celebrities, who are ICAS fellows and members. Dennis Halpin of US-Korea Institute at SAIS joined the event in celebration of ICAS’s successful year. The dinner began with a reception, followed by a three-course meal, and the conferring of the Liberty Award to General Bell.
Dr. Sang-Ju Kim, the Vice President of ICAS said “We have been doing this for 40 years now.”
ICAS Liberty Foundation is a non-profit private educational and research organization dedicated to improving relationship between Asia-Pacific and the United States.
