Every year, heat-related illnesses lead to death from kids to elders under sweltering temperatures. Especially for chronic diseases, people should avoid heat exposure for even short periods of time in the heat-affected area. Currently, Texas and southern states are under a heat dome. According to FOX4 news, Texas is now under a severe heat dome and experiences temperatures that feel over 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

MedStar said that 8 patients were treated for a heat-related emergency on Monday. 6 of those patients had to be taken to local hospitals. The heat and humidity caused the heat index to climb above 115 in some areas on Monday. Since 1980, the hottest summer in Texas with 113 degrees, the DFW Airport hit 101 degrees.

Under severe hot temperatures, a man and two stepsons (14 and  21) from Orlando, Florida went hiking at the Big Bend National Park in West Texas and unfortunately died from the heat. It was 119 degrees Fahrenheit according to National Park Service.

The temperature will be below 100 degrees from next week, according to FOX 4 News.
