On Monday, An Asian woman was attacked by a man at midday in Manhattan, New York. The attacker was a man who brutally hit and kicked an Asian lady (65) headed to her church. The bystanders from the luxury apartment lobby refused to help her. No one called 911 but patrol police found the wounded woman at the sideroad and took her to the hospital.
In fact, one of the bystanders actually closed the apartment door when she tried to escape into the building. Only the surveillance camera recorded the attacker and the victim.
New York City police identified the suspect as Brandon Elliot (38) who was charged with two counts of assault as a hate crime and one count each of attempted assault as a hate crime, assault and attempted assault. According to the NYPD Twitter,

According to NYPD, he killed his mom in 2002 and was freed from prison in November 2019. He is on lifetime parole. If he convicted of this hate crime he will be in lifetime prison, the authority said.
Police released a video that captured a man kicking the victim in her stomach, causing her to fall to the ground. He stomped on the woman’s head multiple times while he saying that to her “You do not belong here!”
The broken Asian Woman was identified as a Philippian Immigrant, and she had serious physical injuries from head to toe.
Early Tuesday, the Brodsky Organization, which manages the luxury apartments said the company suspended the apartment building staff members who saw the brutal attack but didn’t give any help to the wounded woman.
“I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you do, you’ve got to help your fellow New Yorker,” de Blasio said Tuesday during a news conference. “This is something where we all have to be part of the solution. We can’t just stand back and watch a heinous act happening.”
Grace Meng, a congresswoman, said in her Twitter account, ‘We’ve gone from being invisible to being seen as sub-human. We just want to be seen as American like everyone else.”
