Biden administration announced on Wednesday that free at-home Covid test kits will resume as early as next Monday. But, you have to request four free tests through COVIDtests.gov.

Recently, the CDC has been tracking one of the mutations of COVID-19, BA2.86 which is showing currently in 10 states in the U.S. and the globe. The Biden administration tried to prevent the spread of the virus statewide. COVID patients have increased hospitalizations in the past 8 weeks straight statewide.

When fall and winter seasons come, the virus spreads widely. Facebook users are talking about COVID-19 infection and sharing their test results to be aware of using facemasks in public spaces. The government had been giving away free COVID-19 test kits at home since January 2022, and it stopped last June.

According to CNBC, “The kits are intended for use through the end of 2023 and will come with instructions for how people can verify if a test’s expiration date has been extended, the administration added.”

Biden administration emphasized that at least 200 million tests from 12 COVID test manufacturers across the country are to be secured with the cost of $600 million.

“The COVIDtests.gov program has distributed over 755 million tests directly to more than two-thirds of American households, 310 million of which went to households in underserved communities. The U.S. government will continue to make COVID-19 tests available to uninsured individuals and underserved communities through existing outreach programs. Please contact a HRSA health centerTest to Treat site, or ICATT location near you to learn how to access low- or no-cost COVID-19 tests provided by the federal government.” According to COVID.gov.
