The House of Representatives passed a bill to reauthorize funding for the Federal Aviation Administration, and the FAA official, members of congress, and experts gathered at the Washington Post to discuss some of the most important economic and policy issues associated with the aviation industry.
Bailey Edwards from the FAA, Sen. Edward Markey (D-Mass), Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa), Bill Brown (GE), Michael McAdams (Advanced Biofuels Association), Kristin Slyker (Honeywell Aerospace), John G. Clark (Lockheed Martin Aeronautics), David Silver (Aerospace Industries Association), and John Wade (Gogo) all met to discuss interests pertaining to their industries and enforcement, such as the need for stable funding at the FAA as well as upgrading the nation’s air traffic control system, inclusion of new consumer protections and pilot training regulations in the FAA reauthorization bill, to better fuels and hoping for supersonic or faster flights for commercial uses.
Delta Air sponsored the event, where Heather Wingate and Cheryl Oldham explained Delta’s new initiatives to train pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, and crew.
