As Coronavirus spreads throughout the country, March Madness is becoming a maddening event for many college basketball fans.
On March 11, NCAA president Mark Emmert announced that both men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments would be closed to fans out of concern over COVID-19, allowing only essential staff and family to attend the event. NCAA will refund the amount due to fans that have already purchased the tickets.
As such change is occurring, NCAA will also seek out smaller venues to accommodate significantly less amount of attendees.
COVID-19 has officially been labelled as a pandemic, and as such, governments, businesses, and event planners will likely have to make adjustments to protect the public health.
