County Public Official is the Main Suspect of a Journalist’s death in Nevada

Police in Las Vegas arrested a county official yesterday. Police arrested a suspect, Robert Telles (45) for the murder of an investigative journalist, Jeff German (69) by stabbing, last Saturday. The journalist was found dead from his stab wounds outside of his house.

Authorities on Thursday announced that the DNA from the crime scene and the blood-stained shoes, a straw hat of the suspect exactly matched. Those pieces of evidence were revealed by the suspect in the surveillance video. Authorities added the vehicle he drove at the crime scene and the GMC Denali which was found at Telles’s home.

The authorities stated that the Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles will be charged with one single count of murder for the killing of the journalist Jeff German. Telles attempted to commit suicide with his gun but did not succeed. His self-inflicted wounds are not life-threatening. Police arrested Telles from his home on a medical stretcher.

Telles (D) ran for re-election for Clark County Public Administrator in Nevada. Telles lost in the Democratic primary against Rita Reid by a 1.9% difference on June 14, 2022. Telles blamed his loss of the election on the journalist, Jeff German’s critical articles against his misconduct including favoritism and inappropriate sexual harassment at work, according to the New York Times.

Mr. Telles appeared in court on Thursday, where a judge ordered that he be held without bail.
