Car Thieves Storm in, Steals 9 Cars at MD Dealership

A winter storm hit North America from last Sunday to Wednesday this week, paralyzing much of the east coast. At the same time, a car dealership owner discovered that a group of men entered his property during the snowstorm and stole 9 cars. The dealership is located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

It was morning when one of its employees noticed that 9 cars were stolen in the middle of a snowstorm hit the night before, based on 9 spots being free from snow, according to WUSA9. The owner of the dealership, John Harb said, “I almost had a heart attack,” and “It was all snow, so the snow was sending all these signals” that he was getting camera notifications all night. Harb, around 4 a.m., was trying to log in and check his dealership, but it wouldn’t connect.

Harb said, “I thought, probably the power is off, down or something, ” It was, but not necessarily due to the storm.

“I got a call from my coworkers at service. They told me the gate was open because they came at seven. My mechanics came and checked and said it looked like nine spots were missing. Nine spots were completely clean, [and there was no snow] on the floor. We came in and checked and confirmed, yes nine cars,” said Harb.

Surveillance footage from inside the building shows two suspected thieves in the hallway. It indicated that two suspects broke the window and came into the office. They went to the utility room and cut the internet connection. They took all 9 high-end cars that night.

Harb says this won’t deter them from operating their business.

“This is the world that we live in today and we have to bear the cross and keep going,” he said.
