An Active shooter shot at San Antonio International Airport 2 injured, and 1 killed

On Thursday afternoon, a shooting event occurred at the San Antonio International airport, TX. From this incident, 2 people were injured, and the suspect was killed by a park police officer, according to SAPD Chief McManus.

According to the San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, “the man drove into the airport terminal going the wrong way at about 2:30 p.m. A park police officer who was working overtime at the airport confronted the man who immediately got out of his car and opened fire at the officer and the building,” and ” the park police officer encountered the gunman, the officer shot him being incapacitated. The park police officer saved a lot of people at the airport terminal.”

Chief McManus said, “the shooter of earlier today opened fire from a flyover overpass at Highway 281, Loop 1604 and later caused the San Antonio airport incident.”

No one was injured in the earlier incident, but in the second incident at the airport, two persons were injured and transferred to the local hospital. According to Chief McManus, the suspect was shot by the park police officer and transferred to the hospital and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Chief McManus said “[he] had a lot of ammunition and was shooting indiscriminately. We are lucky today not to have a lot of people injured or killed during this event.”

The police were familiar with the man because of previous interactions and said the man had “mental issues.”
