70-29 Passes the Foreign Aid Package on the Senate floor

The U. S. Senate ultimately voted 70-29 to approve a $95 billion foreign aid (Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan) package. Sen. Paul Ryan (R-KS) opposed this aid and stated that many young people would die with this aid. Sen. Ryan mentioned that “America is first” not the least. Sen. Ryan stated that a police officer was attacked by illegal immigrants in NYC and that our citizens are at risk due to the Biden Administration’s southern border open policy.

This bill will be voted on the House floor next.

Republican senators generally held the assertion that such funding was not beneficial to the majority of American taxpayers, which ultimately failed to hold the Senate.

Chuck Schumer, the current Senate Majority Leader said, “With the strong bipartisan support we have here in the Senate, with this vote, I believe that if Speaker Johnson brought this bill to the House floor, it will pass with the same strong bipartisan support.”

Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and Peter Welch (D-VT) all voted against this bill and sided with the Republican minority.
