On June 4 , at 23:15 (GMC), earthquake with 6.0 magnitude hit one of the highest mountains in Southeast Asia, Kanabalu. The epicenter was northwest of Ranau district in Sabah State on Island of Borneo, 10km below Kinabalu mountain. So far, 2 are confirmed dead, 11 injured, and at least 16 climbers missing. Mountain guides are busy getting other stranded climbers to safety.
Due to the bad weather, high altitude, and loosened boulders, rescuers are having difficulty locating stranded climbers. The quake also damaged roads and buildings, including schools and a hospital on Sabah’s west coast.

52km (32mi) ENE of Donggongon, Malaysia
54km (34mi) E of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Fear of aftershock looms over the population.
