On January 6, 2020, Puerto Rico experienced a 6.4 magnitude earthquake, leaving the island in a state of emergency. One person is confirmed dead, with millions without power. Puerto Ricans now fear an aftershock after much weakening of the infrastructure and home foundations. Some are seeking alternative ways to spend the next few days to stay alive. According to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, there have been over 900 tremors. Punta Ventana known for its form as a natural wonder, was destroyed by the earthquake.
This comes as much shock as it has only been two years since Hurricane Maria hit.
