On April 20, 2022, Gov. Youngkin signed “Adam’s Law,” mean t to expand hazing education and training on college campuses.

This law was signed in memory of Adam Oakes, who died from alcohol poisoning after accepting bid to join the Delta Chi chapter at Virginia Commonwealth University in February 2021.

Adam’s Law will also add immunity to those that in good faith. report act of hazing and call for help. Colleges will also be required to maintain and publicly post hazing violations reported from student organizations online.
